Potasyum ve Sodyum Oksit (KıO ve NaıO)
Alkali olarak adlandınlan potasyum oksit ve sodyum oksit bazik oksitler
olup, sır bileşimlerinde erigtici olarak büyük rol oynarlar. Yüksek genleşme
katsayılarına sahiptirler. Bu nedenle sırda çatlama hatasına yol açmaya her zaman
yatkındırlar. Potasyum ve sodyumun bütün tuzları suda çözünür olduklarından
soda, potas, potasyum nitrat gibi bileşikleri sırda ancak fritleştirildikten sonra
kullanılabilir. Doğada potasyum feldispat (ortoklaz) ve sodyum feldispat (albit)
şeklinde bulunur [8]. Bunlar sır yapımında kullanılan bammaddelerin başında
gelirler. Albit 1120°C' de erir. Ortoklaz 1150°C' de parçalanır yanı inkongruent
bir erime davranışı gösterir. Parçalanma neticesinde bileşimdeki Si02'nin bir
kısmı erir, kristal faz olarak lösit (KıO.Alı03.4SiOı) ortaya çıkar ve tamamen
erime 1510°C de olur. Bu özellik ortaklasın geniş bir erime aralığına sahip
olmasını sağlar. Potasyum feldispat genelde frit yapımında ve 1200°C nin
üzerinde pişirilmesi gereken, örneğin; porselen, sağlık gereçleri ve izolatörler gibi
seramik mamullerinin masse ve sırlarında tercih edilir. Buna karşın sodyum
feldispat 1200°C nin altında pişirilmesi gereken, örneğin; yer karosu gibi
mamullerin masse ve sırlarında tercih edilir. Kullanını alanları birbirinden net bir
şekilde ayrılmaz, bazı durumlarda her ikisi aynı reçete içinde kullanılırlar.

cam oluşturma davranışları bir çok bammaddeye göre çok iyi olan bu

katsayılarıdır. Reçetedeki feldispat miktarı arzu edilen alkali oksit miktarı ile
tespit edilir. Feldispatların kullanımıyla bileşime aynı zamanda Alı03 ve Si02 de
girer [8].
Na20 ve K20 faz ayrılmalarının örtülmesi gibi faydaları vardır. Aynı
